Depressed?

Life can be depressing sometimes. We may find ourselves having a rough day, week, or maybe even year. We may even get to the point where we are so down that we just don't know how God is going to help us at all right now. Let me tell you something though, in that moment we are so wrong. We have never been more wrong in our whole life.

We are wrong because, we can find comfort in Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. How? By reading His comforting Words. The Bible is so full of his loving and comforting Words. You will find that no one else loves you and cares for you more than Our amazing savior. While being so depressed, He is capable of lifting us up so high that we will wonder why we ever doubted Him.

Today, we are going to look into His Word to find just a few verses that will lift us up when we are feeling down and depressed. Open your heart and let Him in. Let His Words and His love for us comfort you completely.

JAMES 5:13: "Is anyone among you suffering? Let Him pray..." We are told to pray. Pray always, but especially when you are going through hard times. Let Him be there for you. Go to God in prayer and spill your heart out, because you will find no greater listener and friend than Him. It is comforting to realize after reading this verse that when we pray we have a loving Savior who will listen to every word you say until you have nothing else to let out. That is how the suffering and those who are afflicted can feel better, only by praying to God. When you are depressed, talk to God as a friend and let Him in!

ROMANS 12:12: "...be patient in tribulation..." In verses 9-21 Paul is telling us how to behave as Christians. We find in verse 12 that he tells us to be patient when trials come your way. Many things may be going wrong in our lives but we have to remember that God is in control here. Be patient for GOD IS IN CONTROL. Why be depressed about what you're going through when God has a plan for everything that is going on in your life. He would never put you through a situation that you could not recover from or grow from. Be patient He says... I find much comfort

in that.

ROMANS 8:39: "Nor height, nor death, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus Our Lord." God loves us SO MUCH. He will be with us through everything and it is so calming to know that nothing can separate us from his amazing love. Do not be sad, because The Lord Jesus Christ LOVES YOU.

JOHN 16:33: "...In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." The Lord is telling us that He knows we will have hard times but to not worry and be joyous (be of good cheer) about it because (again) He is in control! It makes me feel better to know that the Lord is in control, because it is easy for us to forget and try to take matters into our own hands. God will help us through it, do not worry and do not be depressed!

REVELATION 21:4: "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." I love this verse more than anything. You may feel afflicted and saddened now, but on that day when we reach heaven and when we are with Our Savior... there will be NO MORE TEARS, PAIN, NOR SORROW. One day everything that we've been through will not matter.

(Some more verses to read during your hard times: PSALMS 3:3, PSALMS 34:17, PSALMS 91:1, ISAIAH 41:10, MATTHEW 11:28)

I hope after reading these verses you will feel comforted and find a reason to be filled with joy. I do not want you to feel as if you are alone during your hard times, because you are not alone. You have God throughout your tribulation no matter what.
